Wolcen Studio macht es nochmal. Nachdem man ja Umbra/Wolcen hart fallen gelassen hat, macht man nun Teil 2. Zudem nimmt man noch mal Stellung zum 1. Teil.
Hence, we’d like to briefly talk about Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, Wolcen 2 and its development. The team behind Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem was committed to supporting the game for the long term and worked hard to improve it through updates, new chapters, additional items, UI improvements and balancing. However, over time it became clear that the game’s technical foundation made continued development increasingly difficult and limited what we could sustain and improve. Addressing these limitations would require a complete rebuild of major parts of the game.
Faced with that reality, we made the difficult decision to stop active development and focus our efforts on building new projects on stronger technical foundations. This was not a decision we took lightly, but one we believed was necessary to ensure we could apply the lessons we learned and deliver better experiences in the future. That is why Wolcen 2 is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, giving the team a modern, well-established foundation that is already working well for us in the development of Gods, Death & Reapers.
As we begin this new journey with you, our focus is on building trust through actions, transparency and consistent communication.
